We have just five in the Fighting Fifth now – Anzadam, Constitution Hill, The New Lion, Golden Ace, and Nemean Lion, who has been supplemented, which makes sense with £3,082 available for fifth.
Some firms have Constitution Hill as their [11/8] favourite but others have The New Lion topping their market at [6/4].
The early Monday afternoon [7/4] about the former was taken , and he is now [13/8] tops in one place, as is The New Lion.
All firms are 1/4 1,2.
The latest Tuesday betting sees Constitution Hill best at [6/4], The New Lion at [13/8], Anzadam at 3s, Golden Ace at 25s and Nemean Lion at 66s.
There are 27 (from 44) in the Coral Gold Cup, and the weights have gone up 7lb after Grey Dawning and Protektorat came out.
Myretown and Resplendent Grey are vying for favouritism at the 6s and 7s mark, with The Changing Man ranging from 7s to 10s.
All firms are betting 1/4 1,2,3,4.
Unbelievably, there are only eight five-day entries for the 70k Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle; that’s a very sorry look.
Furthermore, three of the eight are double-entered this week, too (Cruz Control, Hold That Taught and Jasmin De Grugy), and another ran and was unseated on Saturday (Konfusion).
The ITV double-entries are below and have been updated today (Tuesday).
I’m not sure if I am going to do any ante-post copy. but I’ll decide on Tuesday afternoon.
With ITV racing on Friday, I’ll probably wait, having had an early look at the opening prices.
I had another look on Tuesday morning, and nothing whatsoever appeals at the prices, so the Saturday copy can wait.
I suppose Gorgeous Tom is interesting enough at a general 25s in the Coral Gold Cup now he doesn’t take up his Irish entry on Thursday (presumably to wait for this, though that is simply an assumption).
A full field of 24 looks more likely than not perhaps (if not, not far off it), and that usually means better odds and more places come the day-of-race markets.
I’ll be back on Wednesday with the early stats/info on Friday’s ITV Racing.
