That Sandown card on Friday looks one for the ages – well, the 365 Mile at least – if the field sizes hold up.
And the course is watering as much as possible to ensure it does (see below), as you would expect.
All four ITV races have been priced up by some bookmakers or another, but be aware we don’t have the weekend runners yet with regard to possible future double entries (unlikely perhaps but you never know).
Round: Good (Going stick 6.2 on Sun 11:30am)
Sprint: Good (Good to Firm in places) (Going stick 6.9 on Sun 11:30am)
Rails: Sprint Course will be at full width. Round Course will be on outermost configuration on Back Straight and Bend, Home Straight full width – impact on Round Course distances to be confirmed.
Stalls: Sprint Course – Far Side Remainder – Inside
Sunday course update: 1mm rain in April to date. Prolonged dry spell continues, with no sign of meaningful rain. Temperatures in the mid to high teens all week.
Watering: Flat Course to date has been on a cycle of two applications a week, each time 7.5mm. 7.5mm will be applied to Sprint Course on Monday. No further watering on Round Course until Tuesday at the earliest.
